About the Artist
Kevin Heinen was inducted to The Grund Club Luxembourg as a songwriter in June 2015. He is the youngest official artist. This young man from Luxembourg has been composing his own music and playing covers since the age of 15.
He first came to the attention of the Luxembourgish public by playing at local festivals, like the Fête de la Musique and the Eurovision Gala Night contest, where he played in front of 1500 people at the Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-bains, Luxembourg. He has been inspired by acts like Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Damien Rice and Jimi Hendrix. He also plays under his own name with a trio formation. They have released an EP entitled “Cities and Lights” in March 2016.
Kevin has participated a lot in The Grund Club activities since 2015, including performances at the Hariko centre Luxembourg City, The Grund Club Open Mic events, and The Grund Club Songwriters Show where he performed no less than seven times, including two hosting slots, in March 2016 and in February 2017. His song My City has become nationally famous and got a lot of radio play in a version interpreted by Esther Correia, which you can find in The Grund Club Songwriters 2017 CD.
Most of our core musicians and songwriters have been following the progress of Kevin Heinen with great interest and we tend to apply a mix of encouragement and tough love towards him because we believe in his future potential. So much so that we selected him for the Songwriter Core in 2017.
He is one to watch.
