About the Artist
Dan Schmitt was inducted into the Grund Club at the Christmas show in 2016, where he presented 4 original songs. His wing-woman for the occasion was Laetitia Keener and they just enchanted the audience with their heartfelt duo performances. He is also known under his nickname Rusty Dan as the lead singer and guitarist in the hard rock duo Rust & Dust.
Dan started playing the saxophone at the age of seven, and picked up the guitar five years later. First influenced by Blues, Rock n’ Roll and Classic Rock music, he was led to discover a taste for early Heavy Metal and Metal music in general, resulting in first band experiences with various formations.
In his early twenties, he became a member of the Rock Quartet Pol Said. Along with his enthusiasm for electric guitars and amplified music, a more solitary engagement with the acoustic guitar induced a profound interest for finger-picking techniques and Singer-Songwriter music. This resulted in various musical fields of activity reaching from Singing-Songwriting, Pop and Rock to Metal. Currently, he’s working on combining these different interests and influences into his first solo project, which will be released in 2018.
We very much look forward to seeing Dan on stage with The Grund Club in the near future.
