About the Artist
Chantal Gottschalk was inducted to The Grund Club as a singer in September 2015. She is a fantastic Blues singer and sets the stage on fire every time she performs.
Chantal was born in Ettelbrück in 1967 and grew up in Diekirch. In 1979, she took part in the talent contest in Vianden, where she sang a song of Andrea Jürgens (Schlager) and won the third price. On this day she discovered she wanted to be a singer.
In 1995, Chantal sang in a progressive-rock band from Esch/Alzette called 4-Sale. It was her first own band with which she made her first steps on stage. She also performed with two other Rock’n’Roll bands called Stonebridge and Smeg-on. These bands allowed her to enlarge her network and connect with other bands and other musicians.
In 2000, Chantal began to participate in Jam Sessions that were organized by the band called De Wahn. They still exist and they continue to organize Jam Sessions in Scheidel until today. Chantal was also a co-founder of the blues band Plus Point which released a CD in 2007. At this time, the professor of the music school in Diekirch, Mr. Ron Giebels also invited her to give vocal lessons to the young students of the school.
Since 2013 Chantal is the voice of The Heritage Blues Company. The band released a CD in 2014 and in 2017 they will be participating in the Luxemburgish Eurovision Song-Contest, competing to represent Luxembourg. Her energy and passion are truly inspiring and infectious.
