The Open Mic Sessions are open to EVERYBODY. All you have to do is register.

What you can do at the sessions:

– Play a cover song by yourself or with a friend.
– Play an original song by yourself.
– Sing a Grund Club Catalogue Song with the band
– Sing a famous cover song from the set list with the band.

When you register you should know which songs you are asking to perform. Ask for 3 max.

To participate in The Grund Club OPEN MIC session it is necessary to register in advance. The session is divided into several parts. We start with welcoming guest artists who are not in the club. They can perform any material they want and they can perform as solo artists or as duos (2 songs max). Then we start recording the session and we open the floor to new songwriters performing original songs in solo format. After that we open the floor to official club songwriters playing new original songs in a solo format. Then a club band takes the floor and plays a set of 15 club songs, like a live karaoke machine, but human, opening the singing slots first to the club singers and then to guest singers. We finish the session by dropping all the rules for the last 30 minutes and allowing any repertoire to be performed in a band format.

Two weeks before each OPEN MIC event, we publish a set list of 15 songs that will be performed by the band at the event. Singers can then contact us to register and put themselves forward to sing 3 of those songs. They can visit the website www.grundclub.com to find the lyrics in order to prepare. The registration process happens through The Grund Club WORKSHOP Facebook page (link). When artists contact us, they should tell us if they want to perform in solo, duo or with the band (or all of the above), they should tell us if the songs they are bringing are originals or cover songs, if they want to sing with the band and which three songs from the set list (that can be found in the Facebook event description) they want to sing.
